Ever wonder what bird was making all that noise? Or if the song you heard on a spring morning was a Robin, a Cardinal, or a Meadowlark? Join Jason “the Birdnerd” St. Sauver and find out! This Birding By Ear workshop covers 10 fun tips on improving your bird song and sound identification and includes several sounds from local Nebraska birds to learn and practice.
ABOUT THE SPEAKER
Jason “the Birdnerd” St. Sauver is the Director of Education & Outreach with Audubon Nebraska and has been educating and exploring with other birdnerds of all ages for over 10 years. He has worked with Audubon in Nebraska and Texas as well as with the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service in Massachusetts and Utah. His current work involves creating bird-friendly and inclusive conservation communities across Nebraska and the U.S.
SCHRAMM SUNDAY SPEAKER SERIES
Schramm Education Center presents Schramm Sunday Speaker Series, a monthly program where experts in the field deliver fascinating presentations on the natural and cultural history of Nebraska. The series is free and open to the public, and is designed to promote conversations that facilitate scientific literacy, and encourage lifelong learning for all ages.
The speaker series will be held on the third Sunday of every month from 2pm to 3pm. All speaker series programs are offered to the public for free, and located in the center’s classroom, accessible through the West Entrance. Visitors who wish to also tour Schramm Education Center will need to pay admission and enter through the main entrance. No park permit is required in the center’s parking lot.
