Let’s get bundled up for some frozen camp fun! Come to Eastern Nebraska 4-H Center February 15-16 for winter camp! Experience camp the way you’ve never seen it before. We are going to tons of winter-themed activities like sledding and building snow people. In the evening, we are going to curl up next to the fireplace for hot cocoa and s’mores. Bonus! If the weather is nice, we can even do archery and zip line! How cool is that? We hope to see you there!

Strategic Air Command and Aerospace Museum offers education programs that include exciting hands-on activities for Cub Scouts.  These overnight experiences are for youth grades K-5.  This overnight includes a sampling of the Museum’s most popular activities.  Scouts will not earn a badge at this overnight.  Scouts sleep beneath a SR-71 “Blackbird” and wake up to the the sights of an amazing aircraft.

Participating in SAC Adventures, Cub Scouts will participate in aviation-themed activities like using modular robotics, a tour of the hangers, planetarium show and air powered rockets!

Dinner | The Museum does not provide dinner during the overnight. It is the responsibility of the group to eat dinner beforehand.

Breakfast | Starting in 2020 the Museum will no longer provide breakfast during overnights.

Late Arrival Policy | Doors are locked promptly at 6:00 PM. Please arrive by 5:30 PM to start check-in for the overnight. Due to the disruption of activities, late arrivals will not be able to participate in the overnight.

Pricing | Starting in 2020 $40 per scout, $40 per leader/chaperone.

Payment | Payment is due upon registration, and all sales are final, as this money is used to purchase resources necessary for overnights. In order to provide the best experience possible for our scouts, space is limited in each overnight.

WILD BEES OF NEBRASKA
Learn about the diversity of wild bees in Nebraska, and how to take on an active role in pollinator conservation!

ABOUT THE SPEAKER
Katie Lamke is a Bumble Bee Conservation Specialist for Xerces Society. Through her position she coordinates the Nebraska Bumble Bee Atlas, a statewide community science project. She received her masters degree in entomology from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where she studied the plant-pollinator interactions of Tallgrass prairies.

SCHRAMM SUNDAY SPEAKER SERIES
Schramm Education Center presents Schramm Sunday Speaker Series, a monthly program where experts in the field deliver fascinating presentations on the natural and cultural history of Nebraska. The series is free and open to the public, and is designed to promote conversations that facilitate scientific literacy, and encourage lifelong learning for all ages.

The speaker series will be held on the third Sunday of every month from 2pm to 3pm. All speaker series programs are offered to the public for free, and located in the center’s classroom, accessible through the West Entrance. Visitors who wish to also tour Schramm Education Center will need to pay admission and enter through the main entrance. No park permit is required in the center’s parking lot. Youth Anti-Bully/Anti-Abduction @ 88 Tactical Group

Age group: 6-12

Youth Anti-Bully & Anti-Abduction is taught by instructors with experience in real world self-defense. The instructors will teach students how to deal with bullies in a non-violent manner, and then transition to anti-abduction tactics. Students will learn life-saving skills, assertive verbal and non-verbal communication, and situational awareness in a fun, safe and engaging environment. By course completion, participants will have repeatedly used their newfound skills to assess danger, set boundaries, and respond effectively to verbal and physical aggression. Students use full-force techniques against a staff instructor donning specially designed protective gear.

Comfortable gym or workout attire, water bottle and energy bar/snacks are recommended.

RATE – $60

*Lunch, dinner and snacks are available for purchase at the Ammo Box Café inside the Range & Readiness Center.

*Parents are welcome and encouraged to stay to observe the class

CANCELLATION POLICY

Students who cancel or reschedule a minimum of 72 hours prior to the start of a class will receive a full refund in the form of store credit. Cancelling or rescheduling less than 72 hours in advance or “No-Shows” will result in forfeiture of 50% of payments and fees (50% will be returned in the form of store credit). 88 Tactical reserves the right to cancel any course offered due to weather or unforeseen circumstances. If this happens, all students will receive a full refund or credit applied to another class.
