WHO: This course is for individuals with minimal horse experience who want to increase their knowledge level. Participants must be at least 14 years of age and must complete required paperwork. Class size is 6-8 participants with a minimum of 3 to maintain the class offering.
WHEN: Class will meet weekly on Tuesday evenings from 6:00 – 7:00 pm and run for eight weeks from October 29 to December 17. The course will consist of approximately 30 minutes of hands-on activity with the horses and an additional 30 minutes of classroom activities.
WHAT: Learning objectives include improved understanding of horse behavior and communication, basic horse anatomy, haltering, grooming and tacking, and beginner ground handling skills. Grooming and Tacking certifications will be offered along the way.
Current HETRA Volunteers – $80 (8 weeks)
Community/Public – $160 (8 weeks)

Get involved! The Friends of the Gretna Public Library welcomes new members!
The Friends of the Library is a non-profit organization whose main purpose is to raise funds to supplement the budget of the Library. In the past the Friends have purchased books, computers, shelving units, and even furniture for the Gretna Public Library. We meet on the 2nd Monday of each month at 6:30pm (we do not meet in August though).
If you are interested in joining this organization, then please attend a meeting to learn more or you can complete this application to get involved!

All kids in K-3rd grade are invited to a book club created just for them. Every week we read a picture book together, then do an activity, from crafts to games to science experiments. Sound like fun? It is!

Family Storytime is a rhyme, music, and movement storytime for all children and their caregivers. Come enjoy songs, stories, and activities with other families.
